This is yet another attempt to wrap up Soho but I suspect that there are still some pubs left to do. Start at Tottenham Court Road and walk down Charing Cross Road keeping an eye out for Goslett Yard on your right at the end of which, past Break for The Border, is:

1. Royal George - Goslett Yard {3-110} [18:30]
Greene King Abbot, Tetleys, Old Speckled Hen, Marstons Pedigree (off)

Low dim pub, noisy juke box, young set. Front part has wooden floor with a tiled area at the back. Three televisions (only 2 swiched on). Bar downstairs but didnt check it out, live music somenights in thisbar. Good air conditioning especially at the back of the bar. Lot of wood on show, floors, ceiling, bar, tables etc.

Back to Charing Cross Road down to the next turning on your right, by Foyles, to the end of Manette St and use the side entrance into:

2. Pillars of Hercules - 7 Greek St {3-72} [19:15]
GK Abbot, Marstons Pedigree, Vaux Sampson, Theakstons Best, XB, Courage Directors

Long narrow bar with raised area at back. Very busy at front, lots of people standing in the street, but we entered by the side door and got a seat. Fixtures and fittings look fairly original, lots of red paint splashed about. Note the water tap on the bar. Seems to specialize in food and afternoon teas (served piping hot they claim) for tourists. Good range of bottled foreign beer, noted Leffe.

Out the front into Greek St turn left down the street, cross over and take the next turning left into Bateman St to find on your left:

3. Carlisle Arms - 2 Bateman St {3-43} [20:00]
Fullers London Pride, Bass

Small single bar pub not too busy indoors because everyone was spilling out onto the street. Dimly lit, ceiling fans, carpet on the floor.

Back to Greek St and down to the junction with Old Compton St and look for the Tudor style exterior of:

4. Three Greyhounds - 25 Greek St {3-83} [20:45]
Adnams Bitter, Regatta, Broadside, Marstons Pedigree

single bar pub, very busy, quite busy outside on the street. Pleasant odours wafting from the sewers and various poseurs in open topped cars, rollerskates, bicycles etc parading by. Rather ludicrous black and white exterior.

A short walk further on down Greek St takes you to:

5. Coach & Horses - 29 Greek St {3-46} [21:30]
Marstons Pedigree, Burton, Tetley

Single bar pub very busy inside and out. Lots of Private Eye style cartoons on the wall. Jeffery Barnard seems to figure a lot in the cartoons.

Down Romilly St till it meets Dean St, turn right and walk till you come to:

6. Golden Lion - 51 Dean St {3-60} [22:00]
Theakstons Best, Courage Directors

Somewhat sparse wooden floored bar, supposed to be a food bar upstairs. Gents downstairs. Sky TV. Exterior very woody with plain leaded style windows.

Leave here back to Old Compton St turn left and you will eventually reach Charing Cross Rd, turn right for Leicester Square or left for Tottenham Court Rd station.
